Marvel Studios had an amazing 15-year stretch of films and Soda was lucky enough to be called upon to creatively bring forward unique elements or storylines of various films. Being culturally relevant is an important step for any campaign; however, each of the pieces below depict storylines, moments, and nuanced thought put into every shot and copy line. We are grateful to have been a small yet significant part of this unprecedented success.
Guardians Of the Galaxy
For General audiences, the film was presented in a fun 70s retro vibe and music. The jokes were cheeky and fun however, for Hispanic audiences this may not have been the ideal route. The incredible brand equity of Marvel which was action-packed and fun needed to come through. We needed to introduce who these unique characters were, showcase the swagger instead of the “cheekiness” and promise the action Marvel was known for. This was the significant difference between the campaign Soda created.
Ant-Man and The Wasp
We were asked to bring forth a unique element of this film: Morrissey. Most Latinos are huge fans of Morrissey and we had an opportunity to use the music from Mexrrissey, a Mexican band focused on remaking songs from The Smiths and Morrissey. We also utilized the great comedy provided by Michael Peña.
